A Weighted Poisson Distribution for Underdispersed Count Data

چکیده
In this paper, we present a new weighted Poisson distribution for modeling underdispersed count data. Weighted occurs naturally in contexts where the probability that particular observation of variable enters sample gets multiplied by some non-negative weight function. Suppose realization y Y random investigator’s record with proportional to w(y): Clearly, recorded is not an on Y, but Yw, which said be version Y. This two-parameter from exponential family, it includes and generalizes weighting. It discrete more flexible than other distributions have been proposed data, example, extended (Dimitrov Kolev, 2000). We moment properties estimate its parameters. One classical example considered compare fits distribution.

A Correction for an Underdispersed Event Count Probability Distribution
We demonstrate that the expected value and variance commonly given for a well-known probability distribution are incorrect. We also provide corrected versions and report changes in a computer program to account for the known practical uses of this distribution. The probability distribution in question, named the continuous parameter binomial (CPB) by King (1989a), has been known for at least si...

15 صفحه اولA Data Disclosure Policy for Count Data Based on the COM-Poisson Distribution
C ount data arise in various organizational settings. When the release of such data is sensitive, organizations need information-disclosure policies that protect data confidentiality while still providing data access. In contrast to extant disclosure policies, we describe a new policy for count tables that is based on disclosing only the sufficient statistics of a flexible discrete distribution...
متن کاملBayesian paradigm for analysing count data in longitudina studies using Poisson-generalized log-gamma model
In analyzing longitudinal data with counted responses, normal distribution is usually used for distribution of the random efffects. However, in some applications random effects may not be normally distributed. Misspecification of this distribution may cause reduction of efficiency of estimators. In this paper, a generalized log-gamma distribution is used for the random effects which includes th...
متن کاملA framework for modelling overdispersed count data, including the Poisson-shifted generalized inverse Gaussian distribution
A variety of methods of modelling overdispersed count data are compared. The methods are classified into threemain categories. The first category are ad hoc methods (i.e. pseudolikelihood, (extended) quasi-likelihood, double exponential family distributions). The second category are discretized continuous distributions and the third category are observational level random effects models (i.e. m...
